Biographie
Artiste indépendant établi à Nantes dans les années 30, Jorj Morin pratique, en parallèle de son activité publicitaire, la gravure et la peinture. Sa peinture, à l’huile puis acrylique, qu’il pratique depuis les années 50, est très rapidement abstraite. Il entretient des relations étroites avec Bazaine et un autre breton Jean Le Moal.
Deux importantes rétrospectives lui ont été consacrées : la première en 1975 au musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, pour l’oeuvre gravé, la peinture et les dessins, la seconde en 1992, au musée Jean-Lurçat d’Angers.
En 2005, dix ans après sa mort, deux expositions à Nantes et à Cholet lui ont rendu hommage, c’est donc maintenant au tour de Paris.
Biography
Independent artist, established in Nantes in the 30s, Jorj Morin practises, in parallel by its advertising activity, the engraving and the painting. His painting, with oil then acrylic, which hepractises since the 50s, is very quickly abstracted. He maintains narrow relations with Bazaine and another Breton Jean Le Moal.
Two important reviews were dedicated to him : the first one in 1975 to the museum of the Beaux-Arts of Nantes, for the work engraved, painting and drawings, the second in 1992, to the museum Jean-Lurçat of Angers.
In 2005, ten years after his death, two exhibitions in Nantes and to Cholet paid him tribute, it is thus now in the tour of Paris.
